About Dr. Schatz
For almost three decades, Dr. Schatz has remained on the leading edge of technology in the field of eye care. Over the years, he has been actively involved in professional activities including research and speaking publicly on eye care. Dr. Schatz has also been featured in the media on the subject of eye care and Orthokeratology. He has developed Contact Lens Associates into one of the largest private contact lens practices in the country, and continues to maintain it on the cutting edge of eye care technology, ensuring that his patients are always provided with the latest state-of-the-art exam instrumentation and treatment options, and the finest eye care possible.

Dr. Schatz is known for his friendly, professional, soft-spoken demeanor, and his extensive experience in the contact lens industry. He provides each patient with a professional, thorough eye examination, while taking the time to explain each exam procedure and diagnosis. He then ensures that every patient understands all of their treatment options, and then tailors each treatment plan to fit the specific needs and goals of each patient.

Training and Experience

Dr. Schatz attained his Doctorate of Optometry degree in 1977 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Optics from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (1975), and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Zoology, from the University of Maryland (1973). He is licensed to practice optometry in five states and in the District of Columbia. Since 1979, Dr. Schatz has been experiencing years of success with his private practice specializing in Contact Lenses and Family Eye Care, with an emphasis on advanced techniques utilizing the latest breakthroughs in the industry and in technology. He has acted in a consulting capacity for over 25 years, aiding in the design of computer software programs for the eye care industry. Dr. Schatz holds an adjunct faculty position at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, acting as a clinical instructor for its interns, and has served as an FDA clinical investigator for multiple contact lens manufacturers. In addition, he is currently a Clinical Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and practices as an affiliate doctor at TLC, The Laser Center. Dr. Schatz was named one of the nation's Top Optometrists, by the Consumer's Research Council of America, and is a member of the Maryland Optometric Association, the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association, and the National Eye Research Foundation.
